I have a server that logs in to a non-admin user to run a specific software
(which for some reason the vendor does not make into a service). It is in the
server room, which is locked. So the only risk is if someone were to get in
that room

By the way, I have tried to use the various tools to make this software run a
service, but it won't work that way. So an autologon is the only way at this
point.

Subject: Autologons?

Do you guys have any servers that automatically log into the console session at
boot-up? We have a phone reporting server (Win2K Server) with old software that
won't run unless someone is logged in at the console. I'd like to make it
auto-login with a local (non-domain) account but I want to keep myself and the
security team satisfied that I'm not creating an undue security risk.

Anyone have a similar situation, and if so how do you handle it?
