The release notes say that you must start with a new database. I could
be reading it incorrectly, but I don't think restoring the Bayesian db
(which you can backup) is possible. I really don't understand why this
is so hard for them. They do everything else so well (IMHO) that it
just doesn't make sense.

When upgrading to version 4.0, your Bayesian Analysis configuration will
be reset and turned off (see the BASIC > Spam Checking page) and you
must start with a new dataset of at least 200 received messages marked
as "spam'' and at least 200 marked as "not spam''. As with previous
versions, Bayesian filtering will NOT take effect until 200 or more of
each spam and not-spam messages are marked as such on the BASIC >
Message Log page.

That is why I have not pulled the trigger yet... I wonder if you could
backup your database, then restore it after the upgrade?

Anyone upgrade from 3.5 yet? I logged on to ours this morning and saw
that 4.0.1.006 is available. Skimming the release notes shows that it
blows away your Bayesian database (I really wish they would stop doing
that!), and that you have to re-enter your recipient domains in the
Basic -> IP Configuration tab.

Any other potential gotchas?

Thanks,

RS
