You are quite mistaken. ntop is still supported, and development is active.

Cacti is not a replacement for ntop, nor any other program that I'm
aware of, and although etherape and a couple of others are similar,
none do exactly what ntop does.

OTOH, if all you're looking to do is collect netflow/sflow data and
graph it, take a look at this page:
