2003 R2 added it as an installable optional feature (Disk 2). I never looked at the 2008 I ran to see if it was retained but my guess would be it is a feature not a roll. IF it is still there. I would guess that 2008 did not have it upgraded as MOSS (the paid version was being pushed hard at the time). I would love to have the hardware to setup and run the upgraded version of WSS 3 on 2008 just to check it out. MOSS was very nice I had it up for a couple of days on a VHD.
