DL580 G5s are just old - when they are refreshed next year to the G6, you'll find they're much better.
For current project our HP engineers are telling us that a 2 x QC DL380 G6 gives you just as much perf as a single DL580 G5. The problem with the HP high density blade enclosures is the Flex10 stuff. Very nifty technology. Not very good when you need separation between different service components, as security folks seem to have a lot of trouble accepting it. Better to simply have physically separate LANs connecting into a bunch of DL380s. We need experience in depth with both. Warm regards, Stu Sjouwerman Founder, VP Marketing.
