I had downloaded the Easy Transfer from MS and installed it on the XP
box. Is the one on the Lenovo laptop different?

You can copy the tool from the Lenovo to a USB key...sorry it is migwiz.

        Yes it works, as long as you use the migtool from the win7 disk.
