I have over 30 printers here. For the last few I have not run them through a server, just give them a static IP address. When/if our print server goes down, I lose all the printers hooked up to that. I can hook up a printer to the network without the print server, I just have to keep a list for that. Don't need to count sheets here at the museum. I don't know if this is the best way, but I only need the drivers. I have XP, Vista, and Windows 7 on the workstations. Is this an OK way? Is the best way still through a server?
