NexSan is a good midrange solution. Btw, you have competing goals: *wow* products tend to come with a *wow* price.
And, for the needs that you stated earlier, I don't see the need for a ton of features. Get a solid midrange product that will last for 3-4 years, and can expand a little bit, and by the time you need to make another purchase, the whole landscape (including price) would have changed. Don't over engineer today's solution, unless there is no price penalty for doing so.
