Yeah... I'm thinking of using the HP Restore tool. There's an option to
re-image the computer from the boot menu (F11) and I'm thinking that may be
the best thing. The user's had the computer for less than 2 weeks and now I
can't even create my own account to use to work on it. Whenever I try to log
into my account on that computer, it just sits there at "customizing..." :-(

I just sent the user an email here at work advising that if Malware Bytes
doesn't find anything, he may be out of luck. :-(

If it's brand new, I would just back up any personal data and run the HP
restore tool. Of course, if the user didn't make backup media, you may not
be
able to :-(, not sure how HP's Win7 restore procedure works.

HP's WinXP restore procedure re-partitions the C: drive to one large
partition
and installs the OS from scratch, which is why I suggested backing up.

I would probably use BartPE and an external USB drive to back up the current

system before proceeding.
