Are you think like maybe a wifi enabled PDA?  I have not looked at them in
several years but there use to be several out there.  Dell had one HP had
several I know the HP was a pain to get setup the first time but then the
user liked to play with the settings, so it may have been more user issues
than PDA issues.  Both would get email both used Windows Mobile one was on
3.x if I remember the other was on 4(?).
