I worked for a University research facility wifi was done only for outsiders
and the cost was to be less than $100 for all buildings (4).  I ran about
$20 over but only had 2 working building without full coverage.  Roofs and
walls supports were metal and the wiring for one as mid 1980's with over
head lights producing a lot of interference.  One of the 2 even had a huge
RF generator in it so you could not get much worse.  Both worked as long as
they could get a signal.  Run times depending on if the Bluetooth was
enabled and how the screen was set to dim.  It was not a manufactoring plant
but it was sure dirty and dusty in one to them.
