Not an answer to your original question, - but one other consideration you might to include in your selection process is that the 64MB cache drives are all their newest generation "Advanced Format" drives, - all this really means is that the drives use 4K sectors rather that the "old" standard 512b sectors. This *should* translate to about a 10% increase in available capacity after formatting due to less wastage on the inter-sector margins and ECC data...
This *does* have a potential impact on performance depending on what OS you plan to use... - the newer generation Windows OSes - from Vista onwards are properly aware of 4K sectors and will format the drive appropriately. Older versions, including XP will not do this automatically, (you need to run a sector alignment tool) - and this would result in drastically reduced performance (unless & until you run the sector alignment...)
