Use "group by". Example here:

Anyone know how to do this in Excel or Access?

I've got two columns. Column A has a server name and column B has a
version number. There are multiple entries for each server. What I am
trying to do is query by highest version number. For example:

SERVER1 2.2
SERVER1 3.4
SERVER2 2.0
SERVER2 4.2

What I'd like to return is this:

SERVER1 3.4
SERVER2 4.2

Thanks
