Yeah I kind of thought the same myself.  I asked the local TechNet guru
about why they did not go that route and got no answer.  The guy is good but
my guess is they just plain did not use their brains.  Of course keep in
mind this was introduced at the end of sales for 2003 and before the 2008
was really going.  Virtualization would most likely have made VMWare VERY
happy.
