I actually saw a Samsung DVR system with two color cameras and 2 IR capable cameras plus a 21" (or thereabouts) monitor at Sam's for $995 and IIRC it had remote capability.

You can get a pretty good survellance system that can be monitored remotely, for $2000-$4000 (8 cameras). Probably $1000-$2500 with only one or two cameras. -ASB: http://XeeSM.com/AndrewBaker On Wed, Aug 4, 2010 at 3:03 PM, John Aldrich <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: I don't know what "law" is requiring this, but I know that it's related to homeland security. You need a system, and the camera is but a part of it. Also, what law or rule is requiring this? I know of one location that has a large tank which is currently unmonitored, but it is secured by chainlink, razor wire and what appears to be a quite strong lock/chain. Anyone got any suggestions for something they like? Don't know whether we'll be required to monitor it 24/7 or record it or what.... All I know is that our maintenance manager told me that he's going to need a camera to monitor the propane tanks.
