There are lots of theories as to what made the "freezer trick" work for HDDs, only some of which were mechanical. Two common theories were: * Failed/marginal solder joint; cold causes metal to shrink and moves it back into contact * Integrated circuit chip is failing/marginal but runs at lower temperatures Either of those would work for a USB flash drive. -- Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
