Ok did you do a system restore from safe mode to restore to earlier date and 
time?

Unfortunately, I can't get the machine to boot from an XP CD.  It just ignores 
it.  I can boot to other CDs however like Shadowcopy.  I've tried two install 
disks with the same results.
