If you want to fix a computer, you must be able to boot the OS CD/DVD.  This
is an easily remedied problem.

1. Try another XP CD or a copy of the one that's giving problems (copy made
on a different machine).
or
2. Replace the CD/DVD drive.

Unfortunately, I can't get the machine to boot from an XP CD.  It just  
ignores it.  I can boot to other CDs however like Shadowcopy.  I've  
tried two install disks with the same results.
