I just use spreadsheets... Part of my work with any new clients is to create documentation of the environment so that at least I (if no one else) can find that info quickly. Name, function, IP, system info, warranty if any, location, etc. I've gone so far as to put in drive SNs for some clients. Especially when working remotely all the time, it's nice to be able to pull up that info even if the server is down...
