I am a rare breed, I read ALL the documentation and CTX articles! And I
mean every word of every sentence of every paragraph of every chapter of
everything. I have a rep at Citrix for reporting errors in their
documentation. That is one of the ways I got noticed and got nominated for
the CTP honor. I am one of the few who leave comments on cert exams when I
think the question is stupid, wrong or just plain silly - and get listened
too. So now I get to help polish up courseware and cert exams.

All that to say, the best place to start is http://edocs.citrix.com , That
is where most of the product documentation is placed now. Some products are
still on support.citrix.com. Most of the Citrix approved books are just
their blogs, CTX articles and some product docs in book form. Why pay $40
or more for a book when the exact same info is free on citrix.com?

The next place to start is with a lab server, downloading the software and
start playing with it. That is exactly how I got started. When I started
screwing things up and having to fix my self-induced errors, I started
documenting what I had to do to fix stuff. Then I started answering
questions on Experts Exchange to force myself to learn more. That is where
a lot of my first articles came from (other than the constant badgering from
MBS to write <grin>).

Lab, play, screw up, fix, learn, rinse, lather, repeat until you understand
(and you have fewer and fewer screw ups).

Hope that helps

Hi Webster & James ,
Reason for asking is because our inhouse Citrix expert left a few months ago
& though Xenapp servers have been hummin along just fine I'd like to get
more grounded in the technology since there's no prospect of replacement.

Aside from your book, any other resources (books/sites or otherwise) you'd
recommend for someone getting started?
