It's pretty much the same as any migration, but you will have to do a
'HOT' P2V. (Shut down every Service you possibly can).

Save the P2V info on very safe medium.

R2 the bare metal with HyperV

Import the P2V info and boot your 2003 guest.

 

I recall V2i to VHD conversion is quite easy  - so Ghost should work
too.  

 

I don't HyperV, I ESX, but I'm sure the methodology is the same.

How would you guys do this? To me it's like a swing migration like an
SBS swong, but in this case it's a P2V "swing".

 

I have a physical server with 2003 R2 on it. On this same physical box
I'd like to put 2008 R2 w/ Hyper-V on it and somehow P2V the 2003 R2
machine onto it - anyone have any ideas? This server is a DC - can Ghost
or something pull that off?
