I have a kbox 1000 series here and it's great. Regarding pricing, the pricing model is much improved since Dell acquired KBox. No more modules to purchase. Instead just purchase agent licenses and you get everything. And it costs less than when Kace owned it. Dell's pricing is very aggressive. I use it for inventorying, script deployment (shutdown PCs, copy files, anything you could do with a scrip), application distribution, remote control, and patch deployment. All facets are easy. Upgrades are so easy. Actually, the system places a notice on the "home" pages and it just upgrades itself. I used Novell Zenworks for many years. That was nice. Then we moved to AD and I got Configuration Manager. I struggled with that product and finally gave up, moved to KBox, and don't regret it at all. Yes, Config Manager can do lots, but you really need dedicated staff for it, and we don't have that here. I like the patching feature best. It patches anything Adobe, Microsoft, and provides updates for McAfee and Symantec products. Once I spent some time configuration patch groups and schedules, that's it. Patching in Config Manager was a pain with the monthly task of refreshing the patch lists. Dell says you can have it running in a few hours. This is correct. I did have the thing running and in production in a business day, and distributed the agents the next day. Like any product the KBox could do more, and I expect it will. I'd recommend it. Support is excellent. Tom
