Why do they have that port number in there? I connect just using
smb://server/sharename w/o a problem. Speeds are a little slower than Windows
to the W2k3/2k8 server but are fast enough that I've never had issues.

Subject: MACs and slow access to Windows 2008 server

I got a analyst of mine saying that saving files to a Windows 2008 server on
the network is very slow, they are trying it via
smb://IP_Address_Of_server:139/sharename

Has anyone that is supporting MAC OS and Windows 2008 connections in their
organizations seen anything accordingly down these lines. I don’t have these
problems with Windows 7 or Windows XP…
