Sorry to say, no, I haven't, but it sounds interesting. I just got through with my 5 day class - VMware vSphere 4.1: Install, Configure, Manage.
We've currently got an aging 3.5 infrastructure (three separate, standalone ESX hosts), and just purchased the 4.x Essentials Plus Starter bundle, so your referenced work sound really tasty right now.
