I havent read that book yet but plan to soon. Edward (aka Texiwill on the vmware forums) is one of the top vmw guys for security out there anywhere.

We've currently got an aging 3.5 infrastructure (three separate, standalone ESX hosts), and just purchased the 4.x Essentials Plus Starter bundle, so your referenced work sound really tasty right now.
