>From what I recall on the web interface (I can't get to it right now because 
it's not even up) you do have local security where you would type in a user and 
then give them a numeric "user id" and set a password, assign them rights, 
etc.  
Then there is an option that says to make the user a remote id or something 
similar that I thought would let them use their domain credentials, but that 
doesn't work.

Don't you have to set up users on the device itself, or something daft like 
that, and use their (not very granular) built-in permissions?

I could be wrong, I only used a terastation in a work environment once a few 
years ago, and as I only used it for storing source files the amount of 
permissions required was pretty negligible
