Thanks! I found a doc from our phone vendor that tells me pretty much how to go forward. What has gotten me into a bit of trouble was the two year lapse w/o maintenance.
I found the "Books On-Line" part of the "Help", and, as it says, once that first backup of the tranaction logs is complete, that logs collection becomes much smaller (and stay small as long as backups are run frequently). Yes, running the logs backup today gave a backup file of a bit over 100 Mb (vs 52.5 Gb). Now, how to deal with that 52.5 Gb file... I guess that's why we have terrabyte USB drive.
