I will say a 22" wide screen with a minimum of 1680x1050 res, stood up in portrait mode is dynamite for code work, or anything that approximates the printed page (web browsing, anyone). Many of our tax users have three monitors (when taking into account the notebook monitor), and they leave one in portrait mode, and then rotate one between portrait and landscape as needed.
