Several years ago I bought an HP wide-screen laptop. It came with a "gift
certificate" good at the "HP Store". I bought their backpack laptop
case...

I'm sure this is available with assorted other brandings on it, but...

It holds a very large laptop (17" wide screen), and the compartment is
well padded. The "carry handle" is also heavily padded (and this is quite
comfortable to carry by hand). The laptop compartment has two additional
padded sleeves for whatever.

A "second" compartment is also full-sized with three partitions.

The "outer" compartment has several little compartments. Finally, there
is an elastic "net" for holding some small items.

It has two "side pods", zippered, with headphone ports should one wish to
listen to an MP3 player while wearing it.

Again, I don't know who still this available, but it's my favorite
backpack/carry-on (even when not traveling with the laptop)!
