SumatraPDF works pretty well. Not 100% compatible, but for most things, it's
faster than Adobe Reader and nowhere near as bloated and resource intensive.
As others have mentioned, for complex PDFs, you  might have to stick with
Adobe, but for most PDFs, you can use an alternative.
