+1.

We went to PGP about a year before they announced Symantec was buying them, and
central management was a requirement.

We are a legacy customer of Symatec. It wasn't the case that I chose PGP
because of Symantec.

At the time I was evaluationg options, TrueCrypt didn't have any sort of
management functionality...
Has that changed? I like having a management passphrase that can be changed
centrally...

So do I, drat.
I pushed out a couple of machines without adequate testing, Actually was urged
to do it, because I'm going on vacation next week midweek, through the
following week, then it's 4th of July weekend.
I hadn't walked through the encryption with either person, yet... Thank
goodness.

Ok. So I just verified that it is the same for E5420's stock...
Do you typically uninstall the Dell apps, or did you in this case?

Dell Latitude E6420

Symptom. Client installs fine, hard drive gets encrypted, but then when you
reboot: BOOM. Nothing.

Out of curiosity, what model Dell notebooks and what version of PGP are you
running?

Been over a week, support still sucks. I am now playing phone tag for something
that I am sure is just a simple KB article. We use PGP Whole Disk Encryption
(or whatever Sh*tmantec they want to label it now). I have downloaded their
latest PGP desktop client and I simply need to add it to the PGP Universal
Server.

Should be a simple document, but Symantec insists I can't get the answer unless
I talk to the specific tech person assigned to my case.

I called them at 11am local, said I'd get a call right back, they left me a VM
at 3:05pm local. I leave at 3PM...

Used to be straightforward getting to technical support, now it bites a$$.
Thank you, Symantec.
