So, my boss has really been pushing to spec a NAS solution for file serving for this client. We generally use a server as a file server for clients, but he thinks they can get away with something cheaper.

The above is one of netgear's rackmount solutions with the 5 year warranty. There are less than 50 people in the office, but quite a few of those are graphics people on Macs. I'll also need to provide FTP access to a share for collaboration with remote workers/partners.

We are breaking this company out from former parent company, so I'll also be setting up a new 2008r2 AD that I hope this NAS will play nice with.

The plan is to get two of these and one will backup to the other one...then push a DR backup offsite.

Anyone know why this would be a horrible idea?
