Um...   This is nothing new.   That's the way it's been in the mini and
mainframe markets for the longest while.  As the "PC" market scales up, you
can bet that the larger enterprise organizations will aim their prices in
that direction as well.

Not saying there won't be a backlash, potentially, but there is nothing
illegal about it.   Such is the complexity of software and service
licensing.  And we're only moving more and more in that direction with
subscription-based pricing.
