I read that SCVMM 2012 can manage VMware and XenServer. I am keen to
look more into this because it will be one management tool for both
environments.

Cheers

XenServer for the win!

In all seriousness, this is going to cause some interesting
jiggery-pokery here as they try to keep costs down. Might have to go
around moving some RAM about, although I haven't really read everything
in depth yet. If XenServer's management tools improved somewhat we might
adopt it for our production boxes, instead of just the testing
environments we host on it now.

One analyst says for some large VMware shops with large VMs this could

Another analyst says VMware is sending a clear message to SMBs, "You

Like MBS, I am NOT a VMware person. This is just my $0.02US worth.

Great way for vmware to drive customers to Hyper-V.

Note how licensing is moving to be CPU based but limited by vRam.
