Hi,
you will need a kernel with integrated 16x50 UART and PCMCIA-serial
drivers.
I once patched the kernel to not crash upon loading the UART driver on
startup but I don't know if the kernel you use does have this patch
applied but it might be.
Although I did get all necessary drivers to load I did not found out
how to use the modem. One has to address it as a standard PC serial
port; there should be created a device node upon loading of the
pcmcia-serial driver.
In order to see if you need some additional driver you should post the
output of "dmesg" after booting with the modem card inserted.

Hello,
I have a powerbook1400 with Sarge installed (G3/Mediabay kernel). I
also have a PCMCIA 56k modem card which I want to use to connect to
the internet. Can somebody explain me how to configure wvdial so that
it detects the modem card?
Cardmgr and cardctl show at lease some information, that the pcmcia
card is detected.
Thanks in advance
Stefan
