Hi Grant

You should be getting close now.  Look at the section in  
XFree86Config that defines the "screen".  Make sure the resolution is  
set to "800 x 600" (the powerbooks native resolution) chances are the  
resolution is set to '640 x 480' and/or '832 x 624'.  You should also  
check the "depth" - set this to "8" (that is 256 colors -we know the  
powerbook supports that).  Later, after X is working, you can change  
the setting to support a higher color depth.

If these settings were already correct or after fixing them you get a  
different error post the results.
