I will try. > By the way I found out that the Performas 61xx really are PowerMacs 6100 > without graphics card - thus using part of the system RAM as video memory. > And the kernel recognizes your machine correctly as a PDM machine and not as > a Performa. http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-macppc/2002/01/14/0021.html I knew this years ago it was in a book I had on Macs from the library. I still don't know what PDM stands for ? I know Piltdown Man is the code name but is that really what it stands for. Tisk, Tisk, I really like the 61XX series they were built tough unlike the 7300/200mhz pci I used to have that was noisy and had more problems with quik and firmware than was worth. > Can you read how the following part of the boot messages looks like with > working kernels? No, it moves by too quickly. Any ideas on how to slow it down anyone ? I tried several times. If I knew a halt keycode sequence I would press it. > > Welcome to Linux > > Second-Stage Bootloader > > Display base = 0x00100000 > > Memory configuration: > > 0x00000000 - 0x027fffff > > Ram disk found at 0x00406020, > > size = 0x7f45c46 > > Do you really compile a kernel with a RAM disk? Yes, as far as I can see, I do see the Welcome to Linux and Second-Stage message but beyond that it is moving too fast.
