Thanks for the quick response, and for working on the thing at all. I'll  
just keep using the 2.4 kernel until the laptop quits working then. The  
power supply is annoying - currently my 1400 is powered by bits of two  
broken power supplies soldered together! The clock battery is playing up  
now, though - does anyone on here know what voltage it's meant to be? At  
the moment, it keeps resetting to 1904, which is rather inconvenient.

P.S.: Anyone with experience of using Linux on m68k? I got my PB190  
working again, is there a useable kernel for it?
