hey Rich,
i never used Komodo nor Sublime. but with Eclipse you need this:
http://www.nukepedia.com/python/misc/nukepydummy
so maybe this is the road you need to follow for those two packages as well.
there's also a written tutorial by Sebastian about how to implement this
into Eclipse.
i guess the principle is the same for other IDEs and can be adapted to
your needs:
http://www.nukepedia.com/written-tutorials/using-eclipse-with-nuke
reading through the Nuke 8 announcement, it seems that this will become
a lot
easier in the future:
/"The new Import NUKE function lets developers use NUKE as a module in
any Python interpreter"/
hope this helps,
Holger

on a related question, i was trying to do this in sublime text (which
is my favorite code editor) a while back and also failed...
anybody managed to get this to work (and if so, how)?

Thanks, Ivan.
I just discovered that I can switch the browser in Komodo
to "All Files" and it shows the Package icons as actual
folders that I can open and navigate through… Now, I just
have to figure out *what* file or directory is the one to
add. So far, it's not liking anything I've picked... (8^\
