If you have Nuke 6.3, you can use PositionToPoints as input to a
particle system to get a nicer rendering:
* Add a ParticleEmitter & connect the PositionToPoints node to its
"emit" input.
* Set "emit from" to "points" and "uniformly"
* Set the "vertex emission rate" to an expression like "frame ==
start_frame ? 1 : 0"
* Set velocity to 0.
* Connect something to the "particle" input to control the way the
particles look.
* Sit back and enjoy. :-)
Hope that helps,
Vil.

It does, just painfully slowly, and looks very blocky

Does it render via a scanline? Last time I checked not....

Subject: [Nuke-users] renderable point clouds?
hey fellow Nuke users!
Is there any way to generate a 3D point cloud in Nuke, (using AOVs
like
point world pass, nuke camera, etc.) and then also render it out?
Cheers,
Jordan
