We seem to be mostly stable now. We've got one guy doing heavy 3D stuff,
point clouds and suchlike.  I don't really understand the details. He's the
one who is getting all the crashes, probably about once or twice a day.

I'll try and get more details.

On the XFCE side we get occasional X crashes. X just disappears and dumps
you in to the login screen, no logs or anything to help diagnose.

I had a theory that it was something to do with (some) widgets in the Panel,
so we've removed most of these, and the problem is pretty rare now, but not
totally gone.
