Hey all,

Wanted to get a consensus on how you're dealing with Quicktime creation.

With all of the issues with Quicktime in Nuke and certain codec's not being
available on Windows, I'm wanting to know if there's a one stop shop method
of dealing with Quicktime creation.

I've researched ffmpeg and other flavors based on ffmpeg, but not entirely
sure if this is the best way to go due to known updates to ffmpeg that
change the way things are currently known to work. Granted, if things were
to change, I can accomodate these changes, but the way this software is
developed, leaving backward compatability to the wayside, isn't ideal in a
perfect world! :-)

During my ffmpeg research, I've also experienced bugs in the software,
which forced me to jump through a few hoops to work around the issue,
primarily on commandline.

Primarily dealing with DNxHD (all flavors), photoJpeg, Prores422HQ and I'm
sure other formats will be requested sometime in the near future and I'd
like to be prepared for this.

Dealing with other software solutions such as AE, Any editing software
platforms, etc... is not an option due to the volume of Quicktimes that
need to be created, this is why I'm seeking more of an opensource method.

If there is a Nuke solution on Windows, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks to all for any insight you may offer.

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Best,

Dan Walker
