SO question:

I have a simple sprite based particle system emitting particlesa along the 
ground.  I have a separate premulted image projected on a card that is also in 
the scene.  I am using the  projected image to render with the particles, so 
that through the camera some of the particles pass behind the image and in 
front of the image. However, i would like to be able to separate the projected 
image from the particles after ti's been rendered through the scan line 
renderer so that I can grade each piece of the image separately.  But the alpha 
for both the particles AND the projected premulted image are passed through 
together.  How would one be able to control which alpha came through/rendered.  
I would like to be alble to grade the particles seprately from the projected 
image.  Any ideas?
