You might try checking out Point Cloud Library: http://www.pointclouds.org/
Also, instead of the Kinect, PrimeSense has newer sensors for not much more that have more resolution, and two versions for close-range and mid-range: http://www.primesense.com/developers/get-your-sensor/

hey all well since the faro focus3D system is well out of my range what are the thoughts using a kinect and software to do some basic room scanning. I understand the quality pales in comparison to the Faro I was hoping to get others experiences on this Using Mac osx. I guess as with the scott metzger example work flow on beautiful creatures he is only using the scan for a reference to build a model from but once again he would be starting with a far more detailed base. I am wanting to scan environments which I am guessing are going to have to be limited in size. rooms pretty much. -adam _______________________________________________ Nuke-users mailing list [email protected], http://forums.thefoundry.co.uk/ http://support.thefoundry.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nuke-users
