Subject: [Nuke-users] Re: How to tell bit depth of incoming file
My issue is not what the container format could be but what the actual data is
within it. So a ProRes file might report as being 10bits but the actual image
inside could be using only 8 bits of that.
So it was a question of calculating the bit depth based on content.
Is there a node to change bit depth for effect? i.e. take a 32 bit float and
truncate it to 8 bits. I could use that and a difference to check the file
against it's 32 bit source (which i have)
many thanks
Paul
