Thanks for the response.

To test the below script i'm creating a card with 2x2 subdivisions. export as 
an fbx>reimport the fbx in nuke and run that script.

It should be creating 9 axis nodes but instead brings in 16 axis nodes. the 
last 7 nodes are random duplicates of the first 9 at the exact same points. 
However I've noticed on larger surfaces the duplicate axis nodes appear half 
way in a face if the vertex has been manipulated either in maya, bicubics or in 
nuke 8's editGeo.

Maybe the fact that Nuke has both points and vertices in it’s 3D primitives and 
snap3d snaps to both?
