Hi Michael,

This issue was logged as* Bug 47810 - UI - Lock the timeline to prevent
slipping when set to Global*, and has since been fixed in our internal
build. We should have a beta coming in the next few days so you'll be able
to test this out for yourself.

Until then, as Pete mentioned you can middle-click on the timeline to
switch it back to global (right-click works too).
