Classic bicycle shed designing... but I like designing bicycle sheds, so I'll make this comment: 2.0 "appears" to the average user to be a big enough deal that they might expect that the 1.4 and 2.0 branches would both be maintained for a while. And maybe even expect that you could have both installed simultaneously. I don't think anyone is planning on supporting that, so I think 1.5 is better.
