This is not exactly related to NuPic but related to defining Intelligence. One of the best and often ignored aspect of intelligence is the generating new ideas. But do we really generate new ideas?? The common answer is yes. But I don't think so.
We improve the ideas inspired from other sources. I feel it is quite similar to hierarchical structure in which we integrate and make permutation and combination of basic ideas and develop a higher idea. Take for example the invention of aeroplane.. It was an idea inspired by the birds. Or let say, can we think of any color of our own, one that is not the combination of 7 basic colors ?? These things are troubling me since long. Need some thought....
