Hello, I'm glad to see that nupic is planning on applying for google summer of code. I have an idea for a project and I'd like to see what other people thought of it.
(Also just dropping in here that I'd be very keen to work on nupic in the GSoC) The fundemental idea behind the project is to help everyone gain a deep understanding of the CLA algorithm. From my own experience coding a version of the CLA before nupic (I've been lurking a while) and then working with nupic, I've found it very hard to develop a deep understanding of how the algoithm behaves. In the past I've tried using various visualisations and built some myself to help with understanding. However they don't quite do the algorithm justice and its often still easier to just think things through in my head. So my current (rough) plan is to create tools to help both visualise and experiment with the CLA interactively. Much like cerebro but hopefully even more powerful. If your interested, this is the kind of thing I'm aiming for: http://worrydream.com/LadderOfAbstraction/ If anyone's interested in this then let me know and I could add it to the project list. Cheers, Ruaridh O'Donnell _______________________________________________ nupic mailing list [email protected] http://lists.numenta.org/mailman/listinfo/nupic_lists.numenta.org
